BREAKING: Pretty Much Every NFL Player
After only the second week of the NFL's season, injuries are already beginning to roll in. Players from all across the league have begun to fall, many of them being major factors in their team's success. The absence of some of these players, whether for a few games or the rest of the season, could spell disaster for their potential playoff hopes. Here some of the biggest impact injuries from Week Two:
Christian McCaffrey
The star running-back for the Carolina Panthers has been placed on the injured reserve list after suffering a high ankle sprain during the Panthers' week two loss at Tampa Bay. Being on IR means McCaffrey must sit out for at least three games and despite an estimated four to six week recovery, he hopes to return even sooner.
Saquon Barkley
Tyrod Taylor
Probably the most bizarre injury of Week 2, Chargers QB Tyrod Taylor reportedly suffered from a chest injury earlier in the week and updated to a rib injury on the Friday injury report. Despite these injury reports, Taylor was not expected to miss the Chargers' Week 2 game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, so most viewers were confused to see rookie Justin Herbert start the game at quarterback. What came to light later was that just before the game, while trying to administer a pain-killing injection to Taylor's ribs, the team doctor accidentally punctured one of his lungs.
Nick Bosa
The unfortunate ACL demon reared its ugly head once again, this time to 49ers defensive end, Nick Bosa. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 draft has proven to be a game-changer for San Francisco's defense and his absence will likely leave a big hole (literally and figuratively) as they face more offensively-threatening NFC teams such as the Seahawks and Packers.
