NFL is Losing It's Battle With COVID

The NFL seems to be struggling with the rise of COVID happening around the country. We have already seen teams and coaches get fined for not following guidelines, but we are seeing it happen once again. After these incidents the league was claiming they set their new guidelines and everyone was on board with them. But, now we are seeing the league have a drastic rise in cases and we are seeing major actions being taken.

We have seen the league already require masks on the sidelines and players and coaches who opted to wear a face shield is required to wear a face mask too now. Also, at the conclusion of games players and coaches will have less time to interact with the other team before going to the locker rooms. Masks are required during this interaction. In terms of travel, the NFL is now limiting the number of players that can accompany the team to 62. That includes players that will not be active or are on the inured reserve. The league is also tightening up on the personnel that can enter team facilities and buildings.

The league has already lost one battle with COVID and it looks like we are seeing it about to lose another. It is unfortunate for teams like the Steelers who are trying to compete for the perfect season and are losing their star players to the disease. In the NBA we saw the league make a bubble and have it secluded so we can see the season play out. We were not seeing the Lakers lose Lebron James to the pandemic. In the NFL I am not too sure we will see this season to the end and if the league has some good mandates this would not be an issue. It is sad to see the league losing the battle.
