The Match III: Golf's Latest Friendly Competition For Charity

Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley against Steph Curry and Peyton Manning. What a better way to spend a Friday afternoon than seeing 4 legends going at it on the golf course, and all for a good cause. 

While Mickelson and Barkley were the underdogs going into the match, they pulled out a win. After losing the first hole, the regained their stride and won the next 3 putting them 3 up against Curry and Manning.

With a birdie putt on the par-5 15th, Mickelson clenched the match making that the 3rd par 5 they won for the day. It was the missed putts for both Curry and Manning that led to their defeat at Stone Canyon. While this match did not have the same competitive edge at the Tiger Woods/Tom Brady and Mickelson/Manning matchup back in May, we have to remember the reason why these amazing athletes were out there on the course. The money that was won during this match went to several different HBCUs around the country to help promote diversity within the game of golf.
