Philadelphia imposes new COVID-19 restrictions, meaning no more fans
The city of Philadelphia has changed their COVID-19 restrictions this past weekend. With these new restrictions, limits on outdoor gatherings have been extended to January 1, 2021. As cases of the virus continue to rise, this means fans are no longer able to be at the stadium for games.
The Philadelphia Eagles started the season off not allowing fans in the stands. However, last month, they made plans with the city and state to allow 5,000-6,000 fans in, with a maximum occupancy of 7,500 people. This policy lasted only three home games.
The Eagles only have three home games remaining in their season.
Many other teams are still allowing fans at a limited capacity, while others in more heavily populated cities such as New England, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Chicago are not opening their stadiums to fans.
While COVID cases are increasing across the nation, the NFL is doing anything and everything they can to keep their players and organizations safe. Tests are taken daily, and severe punishments to those that break the protocols set by the NFL.
