Steelers Historical Start to the 2020 Season

The Steelers currently sit atop the AFC North and the league at 9-0. There have been critics saying they are over rated and their schedule is easy and it has not been a hard earned 9 wins. All of that aside, it still has been a spectacular start to the season and the Steelers are in the position to start breaking records and make history.

This is the first time in franchise history that they have one nine straight games. The last time they did this was in 1978 where that team started 7-0. They went on to win Super Bowl XIII and will we see history repeat itself? Since 1970, 15 of the 26 teams who started their season at least 8-0 have made it to the Super Bowl. Out of those 15 teams, 8 of them have gone out to win the thing. The Steelers look to have that as their focus and add on to those statistics.

With their win last week over the Bengals, they have locked themselves at 9-0 and doing so locks them into some statistics that is pretty promising. In league history, there have only been 20 teams to start the season at 9-0 and 60% of those teams have won the Super Bowl. With the defense of the Steelers showing that they can stop any offense and that their offense is still affective with Big Ben back, then maybe they are a team that will continue to break records and prove past numbers that they are the favorites to win the Super Bowl.
